Ruhlman on Local and Affordable
Consistently astute food writer Michael Ruhlman posts today about how the costs of food at his local farmer’s market are not significantly greater than the supermarket. Says Mr. Ruhlman:
For $71 bucks, and a few staples, I think I’ve got four great meals for four, plus a couple of lunches.
He’s right, and not just about Cleveland markets. I shop weekly at the Federal Plaza Farmer’s Market and I find great deals every week.
As Rob pointed out, if look for seasonal abundance, your local eating options remain high.
