Just heard about Fresh Picks. Peapod for the local conscious. At least that is how it sounds. Anyone know anything about it? They list Melissa's Purple Asparagus in their recommended links.

I love Fresh Picks. In fact, I use their service quite frequently especially during the Winter months when the markets are scarce. They try to source as locally as possible even during the cold weather and they have a terrific selection of locally produced prepared goods. Look for a feature on them soon here at TLB.

Thanks! I put an order in last week and it arrived three days later. I am in Oak Park and they deliver here on Saturdays. Everything looks great and although there was a mix up on my bruised apple order, they responded immediately to my phone call and all is good. Not quite the same as picking out the produce yourself but sure beats driving to distant winter markets. I am working to spread the word here in Oak Park/River Forest.
