We here at the Local Beet have had a long standing relationship with FamilyFarmed, participating in many Good Food Festivals and applauding all the various things they do. We’re especially keen on their accelerator program, because it puts all the things they’ve talked about at Festivals, and all the things we’ve applauded, to work. FamilyFarmed and various parties that have rolled through the Good Food Festival kept on asking the same thing. How can we best achieve a successful local food system. A key, it was determined, was to have successful local food businesses, and to help achieve that, FamilyFarmed established the Good Food Accelerator program.  The Accelerator provides selected Fellows with mentoring, strategic support, and access to capital to launch and expand their enterprises.  To read more about the program and hear about some entrepreneurs who participated, go here.

The Good Food Business Accelerator is now accepting applications from food and farm entrepreneurs who want to participate in the program’s second cohort. Application deadline is Sept. 18; the program begins late fall.

To apply now go here.

A Good Food Business Accelerator Application Celebration will be held Sept. 8 at 1871 in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart at 6:00 p.m. Mentors, advisors and past Fellows will speak about the Accelerator’s impact. Click here for tickets.
