The Local Calendar 1/30/14 Green Grocer 6th Anniversary, Cider Summit, Green City Market
As January closes, it may take the prize this year for being the cruelest and coldest month of 2014. Right when you thought the term “polar vortex” was never to be heard again, back it comes to slap you in the face, literally, with that frigid air. At least the local calendar chugs along with lots to do indoors, to taste, sip, learn, buy and experience. If you are looking for more information, help with an urban garden, you want to connect with urban gardeners and farmers, the Advocates for Urban Agriculture listserve is always full of information from a wide variety of groups and people who are really actively involved in all aspects of urban agriculture.
Congratulations Green Grocer on your 6th Anniversary and providing a place where people can buy food that is GMO free. Stop by tonight to sip a cocktail and try a little of their food. Chicago will be ground zero for artisanal cider next weekend(checkout the other cider events ahead of the Summit), February 8th is the Cider Summit at Navy Pier.
