This Week, Michigan Cidermaker Vander Mill Tours Chicago

If you weren’t previously familiar with Vander Mill Cider & Winery, Michigan’s largest craft cider producer, now’s your chance. Vander Mill Cider owner Paul Vander Heide is in town for a series of events celebrating the release of Chapman’s Blend, a semi-dry hard cider made from a variety of Michigan-grown heritage apples, including Winesap, Baldwin, Northern Spy and Jonathan varieties. He will also be pouring Totally Roasted (a spiced hard cider with roasted pecans and cinnamon), Blue Gold (made with Michigan blueberries), Founders Keepers (a mead-style cider fermented with honey), and “Dirty Jim” (a yeast-fermented English-style cider).

Vander Mill will be making the rounds at the following places, starting tomorrow, February 6, ending with the Cider Summit on February 9 at Navy Pier:
