The Local Calendar 8/8/12 Drought Aid Continues, The Colors of Summer

August 8, 2012 at 3:34 pm

When I first saw swiss chard at the beginning of the season I was amazed at the colors and I still am. These rainbow chard were on the tables of Lyons Fruit Farm at the Logan Square Market on Sunday.

Have you been out to a farm dinner yet? City Provisions still has seats left for their farm dinner at Q7 Ranch, with Few Spirits and 5 Rabbits Brewery on Saturday August 18th and they even provide a bus to take you to and from the ranch so you can totally unwind and not worry about the drive.

With Drought Aid 2012 for Harvest Moon Farms continuing, this time Farmhouse Chicago is having Draughts for Drought Aid, August 6th – 12th, with 50% of the revenues from 4 beers on tap going towards Harvest Moon Farms need. The Draught for Drought Aid will culminate in a party on Sunday, August 12th from 2-6pm.
