In the spirit that if you are an avid Local Beet reader you are a supporter of the sustainable food community, I thought I would start a brief post on local help wanted, local jobs and local, small business opportunities.

1) If you are a startup business and are looking to share some office space, contact Lee Greene at The Scrumptious Pantry. She has some space she wants to share, for a price, with other small business owners. The address is 3230 West Fullerton, west off Kedzie, north side of the street. Contact lee@Scrumptiouspantry.com if you want more information. Let her know you read about this in the Local Beet.

2) 5/25 Dill Pickle Coop Looking for General Manager

3) The Chicago Food and Film Festival is accepting entries, the festival where you eat what you see. Go here for more information.

4) Sales and Marketing Position – North Shore Distillery is looking for their first ever, sales and marketing person, have you tried their absinthe? Contact them on Facebook them or here.

5) Farm Chef – They might have filled it but Harmony Valley Farm in Viroqua, WI has been looking for a farm chef. Go to the link or their Facebook page for more information and to contact them.

6) Volunteers at The Browntrout Tuesday Farmer’s Market. Chef Sean Sanders has need of volunteers at the new Farmers Market supported by GroundUp Chicago on Tuesday afternoons int he North Center neighborhood near the Irving Park Brown Line stop.

7) Need to get certified in  food sanitation so you can work at a farmers market? Logan Square Kitchen is holding 3 hour sanitation classes that will officially certify you with the City Department of Health to work at a festival, special event, farmers market or any other temporary food event. Sat. May 20th 9:30am to 12:30pm, Tues. May 22nd 5-8pm, Sat. June 3rd 9:30am Р12:30pm. $35 for registration and more information go here.

As with most things on The Beet, if you have a job opening, looking to fill a position, need volunteers in a hurry, post your needs in the comments below.
