Food on the Dole Whew! or Welcome 2012 by Hugh Amano – Hugh, who is a chef, teacher, farm supporter, writer, facilitator of all things culinary and fun, contributed recipes to The Soup and Bread Cookbook that recent came out, and holds cooking salons throughout the season, at his location “TBD” when you sign up. There are a few seats left for his Winter Market Salon on 1/19 and his Pasta Salon on 1/25.
It Takes a Village by Ben Hewitt. Ben is a Vermont farmer who wrote the book, The Town That Food Saved and Making Supper Safe. Ben lives off the grid and off the land and sends out soulful, insightful missives of his life, family and livestock once a week.
Nourishing the Planet Recognizing Efforts in Sustainable Development NTP published the book, State of the World: Innovations that Nourish the Planet They highlight everyday environmentally sustainable ways of alleviating hunger and poverty. The project director is Danielle Nierenberg and it is sponsored by the Worldwatch Institute.
Finally at Thewoodlandladyandchef in case you missed it, It’s called Finding Foods, chatter about food, cooking, nature and other things. Iliana Reagan the author, and chef constantly has new projects going on like Elizabethrestaurant here. She was featured here in the Chicago Reader People issue in December as “The Forager” and she is the chef and producer of the underground supperclub Onesister whose motto is “Love, forage, bounty, sustain”.
