Recycle Now! – Well, At Least Make It Easier to Recycle Now

The state of recycling in the City of Chicago remains woeful.  The Chicago Recycling Coalition is trying to do something about that.  The CRC (not the guys in black hats with long beards) are a volunteer-run, tax-exempt organization that champions environmentally and fiscally sound management of solid waste through research, education, and advocacy. They emphasize waste reduction, reuse, recycling, composting, and buying recycled products. They proudly tell anyone that they were the guys who helped bring down the infamous and ineffective Blue Bag Program.

They are hosting a party and fundraiser this Thursday, August 18 at Logan Square Kitchen.  The event also features the movie, Scrappers (with the chance to meet the filmmakers).  The doors open at 6, the movie is at 730.  Reservations at Brown Paper Tickets. Logan Square Kitchen, 2333 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. Note, the event also features special recycling collection. See below.
