Country Chef Challenge 2011 – Daley Plaza – 8.4.11
It’s that time of year, where three area chefs gather at the Daley Plaza Farmer’s Market to play the Country Chef Challenge. It’s Iron Chef locavore style. The chefs spend some time shopping and then some time cooking.
As you may know, in prior weeks, Country Financial has been hosting a “Next Generation” Challenge where culinary students from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute have been, not cooking from the market, but at least slicing and dicing away from the market. The Local Beet has helped pick the winner of these two challenges, and these two winners face off for the right to be one of the judges in the Big Chef Challenge.
The events begin at Daley Plaza on Thursday, August 4, at 11 AM. Not only will there be much cheffing and challenging, there will be bags given away and the chance to win $100 gift cards to the restaurants of the participating chefs. See ya there.
