Book Signing with Grace Young, author of Stir Frying to the Sky’s Edge (7/24)
If you’re looking to get out of the heat and learn about the intensely heated art of stir-fry, come down to the Chinese-American Museum to hear Grace Young, acclaimed food writer discuss her new book, Stir Frying to the Sky’s Edge.
A terrific read, Grace’s book “celebrates and demystifies the art of wok cooking with simple recipes from across the world.” In addition to delicious recipes, the book includes stories from Chinese home cooks from the U.S. to South Africa on traditional Chinese stir-frying and incorporating local ingredients.
The talk is this Saturday, July 24, from 2-3:30pm at Pui Tak Center located at 2216 S. Wentworth in Chicago IL. As a special treat, Grace graciously gave me one of her books and I’ll be cooking from it this evening using locally-sourced ingredients. I’ll report back tomorrow. Thus far, every recipe I’ve made from either this book or her earlier work, The Breath of a Wok, has been a huge success.
