Next Wednesday, April 7 from 630 to 730 PM, our friends at Seventh Generation Ahead are leading a healthy eating seminar at the Whole Foods Market in River Forest (7245 Lake St.).  Local families are invited to attend the event where they will learn the importance of eating fresh, seasonal foods and knowing how and where they are grown.  “Eating a variety of fresh, colorful foods is a fun and healthy philosophy to practice,” Melissa Tobias, Education Coordinator for SGA’s Fresh From the Farm program told us when promoting the event.  She added, “We love introducing kids and adults to new flavors and textures that fuel their bodies for work and play, and Earth Month is the perfect time to learn more about seasonal produce.”

Whole Foods Market is sponsoring the seminar on April 7th as one of their 5% Community Support Day.   On that day, Whole Foods donates 5% of their profit to Seven Generations Ahead.  Shop at Whole Foods that day and help fund SGA’s efforts to promote clean, renewable energy, sustainable building design, and fresh, local food raised using ecologically safe and healthy practices.
