Experienced farmer interested in growing organic produce and food. Potential for development of a CSA market as well as direct consumption by our on-site food service program.

Must be willing to incorporate educational programs for summer campers, school groups and the community, into the growing season.

Assistant Farmer Position for 2010:

This is ideal for an experienced, knowledgeable vegetable grower who communicates well. The assistant farmer will assist with all aspects of raising diverse vegetables and supervise CSA member workers.

LotFotl is looking to hire 1 full time worker for the 2010 vegetable growing season.

They grow 85 different crops in East Troy, about 45 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. Duties will include growing, weeding, cultivating, watering, planting, harvesting, washing, and packing vegetables. This is an hourly position, but has a salary possibility including housing for the right person. Only people willing to make a May through October commitment will be considered for this position. This position may be offered year round depending on how much of a contribution you could make to the farm in the winter. This is a great way to get paid to learn how to grow food. While not lucrative, we pay above minimum wage and offer some nice benefits too. Experience is not necessary for this position, but some experience driving tractors is preferred.
