Some go to what is still called Maxwell Street to find cheap socks.  It can be a place for local food.  Mostly, it’s the source for some of the best eating in Chicago, with a full array of Mexican street foods to fill your tummy.   Want to see what it’s all about?  Know what it’s all about but want to hang with an interesting mix of chowhounds and artists.

Chef and explorer of the interplay between world of high and low, mundane and profane, Randall Szott, is organizing an expedition to the Maxwell Street Market on October 18, 10 AM.  Yours truly is leading the edible side of the activities.  Artistic banter will come from others.  You are very welcome to join us.  We will be meeting at Des Plaines and Roosevelt–yes there are four corners there.  We will find each other.  Additional information can be found here.
