BLT Bonanza Chef Updates

We received a couple updates about TomatoFest’s Old School BLT Bonanza, where chefs around town construct a BLT using featuring heirloom tomatoes and other good stuff (read: bacon) from farms near you:

  • Osteria Via Stato
  • is pairing Seedling Cider by the glass with their BLT starting Monday. They are going with Kinnikinnik and Slagel Farms for the pork. This is one of the most complete local choices in town.

  • City Provisions is using Heritage Prairie heirloom tomatoes and green leaf lettuce, Faith’s Farm bacon, homemade mayo using Faith’s Farm eggs, and Nicole’s sourdough baguette. This sandwich will be available for take out at Green Grocer.
  • Chef Philip Foss of Lockwood will be making a dinner-only BLT with heirlooms will be coming from Leaning Shed Farms and will be available for dinner only.
  • The Gage’s Terry McNeese will be supplied by Sustainable Greens from Three Rivers, MI.

      And in more BLT news, Chef Sarah Grueneberg of Spiaggia will be featuring her version at Cafe Spiaggia! Specifics on which farms she is featuring will follow.
