Terra Talks Today @ Eli’s Cheesecake Factory

The second installment of the Local Beet/Wright College/Eli’s Cheesecake Factory lecture series on local food happens today at Eli’s Cheesecake Factory.   Terra Brockman is the featured speaker.  Terra is founder and Director of Communication and Training for the Land Connection, an organization dedicated to establishing successful farmers
on healthy farmland, ensuring an abundance of delicious, local, and organic foods.  Terra’s family also runs one of the most interesting local vegetable farms, Henry’s Farm.  You can read more about Terra here.

I heard Terra talk last year at Eli’s, and it was, maybe, my favorite talk of the whole series, and given the high quality of all of the speakers, that’s really saying something.  Terra talked last year about the many issues related to industrial agriculture.  I was most impressed by the slides of battery chicken operations.  You really leave Terra’s talk inspired (and justified) to eat local.
