Pear-Shaped World
Ever wonder about the people who grow and sell food at your local farmer’s market? In this Sky Full of Bacon podcast, I meet Oriana Kruszewski, the lady who sells amazing Asian pears at Chicago’s Green City Market, and learn how her love for tasty pears led to a 500-tree orchard plus everything from paw paws to black walnuts.
Shot last fall as she prepared to pick and store her last pears of the season, this podcast will take you back to a time when things were still green, and get you ready to start watching for great locally-grown produce soon at your own farmer’s markets. More info at skyfullofbacon.com/blog (15:46)

Having already tasted Oriana’s fruit and nuts, I can vouch that they’re as tasty as they look. I love her walnut preparation instructions: run over it with your car a few times.
